Overview:

Acts independently as top-level technical contributor for a complex technical enterprise environment. Areas of focus will be cloud-based email, (Domain Name Service, Simple Mail Transfer Protocol), cloud-based server (Azure Entra ID, Secure File Transfer Protocol) and certificate and federation services. Evaluate and review software products as well as the installation, configuration and modification of chosen products; advises and trains other data processing personnel. The ISA I, shall be responsible for cloud and server environments, including Exchange On-Prem / Online, Azure cloud, Commvault, Mimecast and Identity and Access Management (IAM) other cloud. Manages and optimizes our Azure environment, focusing on identity, management, governance, and access.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provides specialized technical expertise in cloud infrastructure, including Azure, Microsoft Exchange, Commvault, Mimecast, and other related tools. Manage and optimize Azure Identity, including Azure Active Directory (AD) and role-based access controls. Oversee Azure Management and Governance, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and best practices. Implement and manage Azure Access Management, including configuration of access policies and monitoring. Administer Exchange On-Premises and Exchange Online environments, including configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Manage mailbox databases, email policies, and address book management. Coordinate with vendors and support teams for updates and incident resolution. Configure, monitor, and maintain Commvault backup solutions, ensuring data integrity and availability. Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies in line with organizational requirements. Oversee Mimecast email security solutions, including configuration, policy management, and incident response. Ensure email security and compliance with organizational standards. Develop and enforce IAM policies and procedures to manage user identities and access controls effectively. Implement and manage IAM solutions to secure applications, systems, and data. Conduct regular audits and reviews of access controls and permissions to ensure compliance and security.
  • Ensures the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud environments meet organizational requirements. Manages technical aspects of cloud services, including performance tuning, capacity management, and troubleshooting. Responds to and resolves incidents related to Azure cloud services, such as service outages or performance issues. Identifies and addresses the root causes of recurring incidents to prevent future disruptions. Assesses and authorizes changes to the cloud environment, ensuring minimal disruption to services. Oversees the deployment of new features or updates in the cloud environment, coordinating with development and operations teams.
  • Ensures that cloud solutions are designed in alignment with business needs and IT policies. Assist in planning and executing system upgrades and enhancements, ensuring minimal disruption to services and alignment with organizational goals. Develops and documents cloud service designs, including Azure infrastructure, identity management, and access controls. Provides strategic input on cloud infrastructure and services, aligning them with organizational goals. Manages the budgeting and financial aspects of cloud services, ensuring cost efficiency and value delivery.
  • Continuously reviews and improves cloud services, focusing on enhancing performance, security, and efficiency. Oversees specific processes related to cloud management and ensures they are optimized and aligned with best practices.
  • Provide support for issues including configuration assistance and troubleshooting. Address user inquiries and ensure smooth operation of these systems. Provide support for cloud-related issues, including troubleshooting and resolving performance problems and configuration errors.
  • Assist in defining IT policies, procedures, and best practices. Work closely and train cross-functional teams, including IT support, development, and project management, to ensure seamless integration and operation of systems.
  • Travels as necessary for education meetings and site surveys.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Education and Experience:

Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to the completion of two years of college, with coursework in the computer science field AND four years of experience with technical systems and/or programming experience and/or IT project management OR any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
 
  • Requires extensive knowledge of systems design and implementation, including the way programs are written, compiled, and tested, the methods of operating computers, and the way data is transcribed into a form suitable for reading by computer and has an appreciation of the wider business context for those programs.
  • Requires excellent oral and written communication skills for effective engagement with colleagues and internal users/customers.
  • Requires extensive knowledge necessary to effectively perform the ability to exercise sound judgement in analyzing, appraising, evaluating, and solving problems of a procedural, organizational, administrative, and technical nature.
  • Requires awareness and adherence to organizational standards for security, privacy and ethics.
  • Requires extensive knowledge of the devices for capturing data for computers and the means available for receiving and transmitting data from remote locations to a computer.
  • Requires extensive knowledge of the principles and techniques of computer system documentation.
  • Requires extensive knowledge of the advantages and limitations of computer communication, and information retrieval systems as management information tools.
  • Requires the ability to organize facts and findings, analyze data logically and to present results with clarity and comprehension, orally and in written or graphic form.
  • Requires the ability to use and understand appropriate methods, tools, applications, and processes to demonstrate a rational and organized approach to work.
  • Requires willingness to travel and possession of a valid Illinois driver’s license as required by individual positions within the class. 
  • Requires the ability to push/pull, lift and carry 0-50 lbs.
