Information Systems Technician I - Facility Operations
Job Title: Information Systems Technician I Division: Information Technology - Facility Operations Union: IFT Location: 2701 S. Dirksen Pkwy, Springfield, IL – Sangamon County Salary: $4,865.00 monthly, commensurate with experience
Overview:
Performs independent systems analysis on less complex projects; assists senior staff and users with problem resolutions, installations, maintenance, and with monitoring and testing of various data processing hardware/software.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs independent systems analysis on problems such as the networking, server hardware / software, and PC hardware / software; under guidance of senior staff, performs complex installation and configuration of hardware and software; perform program testing, and debugging.
Receives inquiries dispatched by the Help Desk regarding system problem determines nature and extent of problems and takes the necessary corrective actions dealing with identifying and resolving hardware and software malfunctions.
Monitors and tests equipment including Servers, PC’s, printers, tablets, keyboards, and cables; assists senior staff with installation of Servers.
Performs independent system analysis on Linux and Microsoft server problems related to network connectivity, print server functions, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) functions, tftp functions, and other server related functions; perform problem analysis on wireless access point and handheld tablet devices.
May be required to act independently in response to unplanned hardware or software failures.
May be required to perform listed duties remotely after normal business hours.
Travels as necessary for education, meetings and site surveys.
Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Requires knowledge skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of one year of college, with computer science coursework or one and one-half (1.5) years of technical systems and/or programming experience.
Requires lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 50 lbs.
Requires a valid Illinois Driver’s License.
