Multiple-Choice Tested Titles with Keyboarding Assessment:

Walk-in candidates may be accepted at the discretion of the testing center, if space is available; scheduled applicants will receive priority when testing. Unscheduled applicants (walk-ins) must have completed an online application prior to arrival or may complete an online application, in a Department of Personnel office, prior to the beginning of the testing session; allow at least 20 minutes.
Community Job Testing Opportunities
The Secretary of State wants to make it easier for you to be considered for employment at your nearby DMV locations. Certain public service positions in these facilities require an applicant to take and pass a written, multiple-choice test. The Office will offer job testing opportunities at select DMV facilities and certain public libraries throughout the state according to the following schedules. We hope that offering testing at public libraries in a variety of locations, as well as the Secretary of State Personnel Offices in Chicago and Springfield, will make it easier for people who want to work for our Office.

Job Title:Summer Jobs - 2025 Division: TBD Union:N/A Location:Available positions include work in the Secretary of State offices in Chicago and surrounding suburbs, Springfield, as well as downstate facility locations
Salary:$17.00 hourly (Graduate students hired for specific contractual intern positions, i.e. law school interns, will be paid $25.00 per hour)
Overview: The Office of the Illinois Secretary of State is offering Illinois students, who are currently enrolled or will be attending a post-secondary program (college or trade school) this fall, the opportunity to gain professional experience related to the duties, responsibilities and operations of the Office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide operational support across a wide variety of areas and departments. Many jobs are located in Secretary of State DMVs. Many jobs are also available in other departments, such as Business Services, Physical Services, the Executive Office, Administrative Hearings, Police, Personnel and the State Library, just to name a few.
Receive training and assignments designed to develop knowledge, understanding, and practical skills consistent with the various career disciplines within the Office of the Illinois Secretary of State.
Work with staff and the public, assisting with supporting and carrying out the duties and responsibilities of the Office of the Illinois Secretary of State, including implementation of programs and services.
Locations where summer jobs are available:
The Illinois Secretary of State will be offering summer jobs in various cities and locations across the State, including in the Chicago-land area and in the Springfield area, in both DMVs and office buildings.
When applying for a summer job, you will be able to choose up to 3 cities or locations where you would like to work this summer. Please choose the locations with your first choice first, second choice second, and third choice location third. If you only want to work in one location, then only list your first choice as your single location choice.
